Venice - Day 3 - Full Moon Lagoon

At the Lido we didn't take many photos, because we were too hungry and just looking for some food. And then we had to hurry to catch the last watertaxi. On the way back you have to cross the lagoon and have the most amazing view. As I reported before, you experience the venetian atmosphere the best on a boat. And that day were also lucky that the full moon illuminated the beautiful scenery.

Auf dem Lido haben wir leider nicht viele Fotos gemacht, da wir so hungrig waren, dass wir nur auf der Suche nach Essen waren. Und dann mussten wir uns noch beeilen, um nicht das letzte Wassertaxi zu verpassen. Auf der Rückfahrt, während der man die Lagune überqueren muss, hat man aber eine super Aussicht.Wie ich ja auch vorher berichtet habe, erlebt man das venezianische Flair am besten vom Wasser aus. Und zu unserem Glück beleuchtete auch noch der Vollmond die tolle Szenerie.

Venice - Day 3 - Lido

As I already reported (here),in the beginning I was sceptical about the watertaxi (Vaporetto; rather a waterbus), because I thought it was way too overpriced.. But in hindsight it was probably the best investment we made while being in Venice and we took full advantage of the 24 hours we had. If you buy a time-ticket (which was by the way 20 € for 24 hours),like we did, you can take (almost) every line and get off at every stop. First we thought about visiting Murano or Burano, but then didn't have time for that, so we spontaniously drove to the Lido, a long island, which seperates the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea (click for more information). At the Lido it feels like being in a totally different town, like in a health resort. Such a calm place with far fewer people and nice cafes and restaurants. We just walked along the main road and the promenade, because we had to take the last watertaxi back to the city, but I can highly recommend going there, if you are sick of the masses of people at the historical centre.

Ich hatte ja schon (hier) berichtet, dass ich dem Wassertaxi (Vaporetto; und eher Wasserbus) anfangs sehr skepisch gegenüberstand, da mir der Preis einfach zu überteuert erschien. Im Nachhinein war es dann aber die beste Investition und wir haben die 24 Stunden (die ja 20 Euro kosten) voll ausgenutzt. Wenn man ein Zeitticket bucht, wie wir es getan haben, kann man alle (oder fast alle) Linien und Haltestellen nutzen. Zuerst hatten wir uns überlegt noch Murano oder Burano, 2 kleinere Inseln, zu besichtigen, was wir aber zeittechnisch nicht hinbekommen haben. Also haben wir einen kurzen Abstecher zum Lido gemacht, eine längliche Insel, genau gegenüber vom Markusplatz, welche wiederrum die Lagune von der Adria trennt (mehr Infos hier). Man kommt sich echt vor wie in einer komplett anderen Stadt, wie in einem Kurort. Super ruhig, mit viel weniger Menschen und vielen netten Cafes und Restaurants. Wir haben auch nur die Hauptstraße erkundet, da wir das letzte Wassertaxi erreichen mussten, aber wer Entspannung vom Trubel sucht, sollte auf jedenfall hierhin kommen.

New at the online shops #1

Who doesn't enjoy browsing through their favorite online shops and looking out for fresh fashion pieces? I do it almost two or three times a week, even though I almost never intend to buy anything

I just love to see, how brands implement the current trends and style them. I often just use this as an inspiration. I think about the pieces I already own and which new pieces I really need and how I can incorporate them into my existing wardrobe. So today here is "episode" one of my new "New @ the online shops" series.

Wer liebt es nicht die Shops seiner Lieblingsmarken nach Neuheiten zu durchstöbern und nach "frischen" Teilen Ausschau zu halten? Ich mache es bestimmt zwei bis dreimal die Woche, auch wenn ich gar nicht vorhabe etwas zu kaufen. Ich liebe es einfach zu sehen, wie Marken die neuesten Trends umsetzten und stylen und lasse mich dadurch inspirieren. Dann denke ich über die Teile nach,die ich bereits besitze und die, die ich wirklich brauche und wie ich diese dann in meine bestehende Garderobe einbauen kann, um neue Looks zu kreieren. Also gibt es heute Teil 1 meiner neuen "New @ the online shops" Serie.

Venice -Day 3 - Museo Correr

If a museum doesn't really stay in your mind, does it mean that it is bad? Well, this isn't quiet right.
The Museum Correr is located in some buildings at the Markus Square and consists of various departments for example a collection of paintings, imperial rooms of the royal palace, a section about the history of Venice and even ancient exhibits. Nonetheless I missed the red thread and found it a bit unstructured. Also the explanations about the rooms and the exhibits were a bit sparse, so maybe that's the reason I almost don't remember anything. However, the museum has something to offer for everyone,because there are many interesting exhibits to see within a beautiful setting.

Wenn einem ein Museum nicht wirklich in Erinnerung bleibt,war es wohl nicht so der Knaller. Oder? Naja, so kann man das wohl auch nicht sagen. Das Museum Correr befindet sich in Gebäuden direkt am Markusplatz und beinhaltet diverse Abteilungen, wie u.a. eine Gemäldesammlung, königliche Wohnräume, eine Sammlung zur Geschichte Venedigs und Exponate der Antike. Leider habe ich keinen roten Faden erkennen können und mir ist das Museum etwas zu unstrukturiert. Ausserdem fehlt es auch an ausführlicheren Erklärungen zu den Räumen und Exponaten,so dass mir nichts im Gedächtnis blieb. Trotzdem kann man sagen, dass es dort tolle Ausstellungsstücke in einer schönen Kulisse gibt und dort jeder etwas geboten bekommt.

Outfit - Venice Day 3 (His &Hers)

One of my main travel tips: Always take a travel flat iron with you or make sure, your clothes are packed in the right way, so they will not crease and you can wear them straight out of your case. Because I didn't take one on my Venice trip,this was my problem on our third day, because now looking at the pics, the other people might have thought, that it was my lunch break and I was working at an ice cream parlor. And to blame for this is the vest, but my top was too creased to wear it on its own.😂 But with my favorite necklace at the moment and my jeansjacket, I could ease the look, so it didn't look too uniform.

Einer meiner Hauptreisetips: Nehme immer ein Reisebügeleisen mit oder pack deine Sachen so, dass sie nicht zerknittert sind und man sie direkt aus dem Koffer anziehen kann. Das war auch mein Problem an Tag 3, denn wenn ich mir jetzt die Fotos ansehe, müssten die Leute gedacht haben,ich hätte gerade Mittagspause und würde in einem Eiskaffee arbeiten. Dies ist aber der Weste geschuldet, die ich über dem Top anziehen musste, dass zu zerknittert war um es alleine zu tragen.😂 Aber mit meiner momentanen Lieblingskette und meiner Jeansjacke konnte ich den Look noch ein wenig auflockern und sah nicht zu uniform aus.
