After visiting the Cathedral of Naples and the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro, which was our main activity for that day, we straight away jumped into the action of the crowded streets again. Even though we walked through the alleys a thousand times, we never visited Via San Gregorio Armeno at daytime, when all the "crib art workshops" are open.
While here in Germany we just have our christmas tree, the italians also have their nativity scene. The nativity scenes often not just consist of the religious figures like Baby Jesus, Marry and Joseph, but also of a whole city built around them. You can probably spent hundreds buying figurines, illuminated houses and actual working fountains. But of course, Naples is also perfect for shopping clothes and one shopping day is always on our agenda during our stay.
Die Kathedrale von Neapel mit dem zugehörigen Museum liegt quasi unmittelbar in der Altstadt und nachdem wir unsere "Aufgabe" des Tages "erledigt" hatten, zog es uns natürlich wieder in die chaotischen Straßen. An der Via San Gregorio Armeno sind wir wahrscheinlich etliche Male vorbei gelaufen, aber niemals hindurch. Sie zählt meiner Meinung nach auch zu den Kuriositäten, denn hier reiht sich ein "Krippengeschäft" an das Nächste. Das Aufstellen einer Krippe gehört in Italien einfach zum Weihnachtsfest dazu und in der Via San Armeno kann man sich nicht nur mit christlichen Figuren eindecken, man kann ganze neapolitanische Stadtszenen, inklusive Pizzabäcker mit illuminiertem Pizzaofen, nachbauen. Aber neben Krippenaccessoires kann man in Neapel natürlich auch super Klamotten shoppen. Immer ein Highlight unseres Urlaubs.
