Florence Day 2 - Central Market & Outfits

We started our second day in Florence as always late and therefore super hungry, so we first went to the great market hall, which was near our hotel. The market has two areas, the groundfloor with "normal" market stands, which sell everything Italy has to offer, if you want to cook at home or want to buy sweets, snacks or souveniers. The upper floor is a food court with various different food stalls. I was so astonished by the variety and we almost couldn't decide. You can choose between typical italian food such as pizza and pasta, burgers and steaks or fish dishes. And when you have seen the fresh food, which is sold on the first floor, you can imagine that the dishes contain these good ingredients. I expected the prices to be lower, but you have this special, bubbly athmosphere with a wide choice of meals and can also watch the preparation of your food.

Laura bakes ... After Eight Cookies

  175 g weiche Butter
100 g weissen Zucker
50 g braunen Zucker
1 Päckchen Vanillezucker
1 Prise Salz
1 Ei
200 g Mehl
1 TL Backpulver
200 g dunkle Kovertüre
200 g After Eight
15 Minuten backen.

//After Christmas I finally accomplished to bake some cookies.
I was up for something chocolaty minty, so I made some After Eight Cookies and I chose the easiest recipe.

175 g softened butter
100 g white sugar
50 g brown sugar
1 sachet vanilla sugar
a pinch of salt
1 egg
220 g all-purpose flour
tsp baking powder
200 g dark chocolate
200 g After Eight

Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Cream the butter, sugar, salt and egg. Add the flour, the baking powder and 150 g of the melted chocolate. Chop up the After Eight into small pieces and fold it in. Place walnut sized dabs on parchment paper lined cookie sheetand bake for 15 minutes. Use the rest of the chocolate to decorate.
