We
spent only 3 days in Prague and for sure we didn't see every corner of the city, but of what we have seen, I liked the district below the castle the
most, which is called Lesser Town of Prague or Malá Strana. This is how I imagined Prague to be. Beautiful, old palaces with little shops and restaurants along cobblestone roads.
Wir waren nur drei Tage in Prag und wir haben mit Sicherheit nicht jede Ecke der Stadt gesehen, aber von dem was wir gesehen haben, gefällt mir das Gebiet unterhalb der Prager Burg, also die Kleinseite oder auch Mala Strana, am besten. So hatte ich mir auch das typische Prag vorgestellt. Schöne, alte Gebäude mit kleinen Geschäften und Restaurants entlang Kopsteinpflasterstrassen Fast ein wenig südländisch.
Hi! So these are the last photos from the Prague Castle on the second day.(Check out the previous posts from Prague Castle: the Golden Lane,the Royal Palace & Cathedral St.Vitus . When everything was closed, we wanted to walk down to the Charles Bridge and check out the district near the castle, because it's suppoesed to be one of the most beautiful parts of the city. But before we crossed the southern gardens and went to the square called Hradcany Square in front of the main gate to Prague Castle, where many palaces with museums are located.
Hi! So dann komm ich endlich mal zu den letzten Fotos von der Prager Burg an Tag 2. Schaut euch die vorherigen posts vom der Prager Burg an: Das Goldene Gässchen, der alte Königspalast, St. Vitus Kathedrale Also war mittlerweile alles zu und wir wollten diesmal zu Fuss in Richtung Karlsbrücke gehen. Zuerst sind wir dann durch den südlichen Garten und nochmal hoch zum Hradschiner Platz, wo sich auch einige Paläste mit Museen befinden.
So
after we visited the cathedral and the royal palace, everything closed
and we followed the other tourists in the direction of the "Golden Lane".
We felt like in Disneyland with the small, coloured houses and we
thought, everything was a bit too over-restored. You can also visit some
of the houses, where the alchemists supposed to have lived and also many weapons and suits of armour. But mainly gift shops are now situated in the tiny houses.
Nachdem wir in der Kathedrale und dem Königspalast waren, machte dann auch schon alles dicht und wir folgten einfach den Touristenströmen Richtung "Goldenes Gässchen". Man kommt sich fast so vor wie im Disneyland mit den kleinen, bunten Häuschen und wir haben uns dann auch gefragt,ob dort nicht alles ein bißchen zu über-restauriert ist. Man kann hier sowohl einige Häuser der Alchemisten besichtigen,die angeblich in einigen der Häuser gewohnt haben sollen, als auch Waffen und Rüstungen. Aber hauptsächlich sind hier jetzt kleine Souvenierläden angesiedelt.
So let's
continue with our discovery tour. We managed to visit the cathedral and
then we had some minutes left to sneak into the old royal palace.
There is not much to see, so 15 minutes were enough to take some
panorama pics on the terrace. For people interested in history, it's
important to know, that the palace was the location of the second defenestration of Prague.
Ok, dann lasst uns mal weiter mit unserer Entdeckungstour machen.
Wir hatten geschafft, die Kathedrale zu besichtigen und das wars dann auch schon fast. Da der alte Königspalast direkt hinter der Kirche ist, sind wir noch mal kurz dort hinein gesprintet. Da es dort aber eh nicht viel zu sehen gab, reichte uns die übriggebliebene Viertelstunde, um kurz noch ein paar Fotos von der angrenzenden Terasse aus zu machen. Der Königspalast war dennoch Schauplatz des bekannten, zweiten Prager Fenstersturzes, für historisch Interessierte.:)
