That time we were in Naples, we first rented an apartment in Pozzuoli for some days, since we had some things to visit there, in the western part of the neapolitan gulf and we wanted to spent some days near the sea first. But then we went to a B&B in the city center next to the Archeological Museum, which is in the center, but not too much. For that day we planned to visit a da-Vinci-exibit at the Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano and on our walk we crossed the Piazza del Gesu Nuovo, which we had already crossed many times before. We always admired the unusual facade consisting of diamondshaped ashlars, which was originally part of an 15th century palace, but not knowing what a beautiful, baroque church was inside.
Als wir dort in Neapel waren, haben wir zuerst eine Wohnung in Pozzuoli gemietet und nach ein paar Tagen sind wir dann in ein Bed & Breakfast neben dem Archäologischen Museum gezogen, um direkt mitten in der City zu sein.
Es gibt, wie bereits erwähnt, tatsächlich noch einige Orte, die für uns neu sind. Auf dem Weg zu einer Leonardo da Vinci Ausstellung im Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano, sind wir noch an der Piazza del Gesù Nuovo und der gleichnamigen Kirche vorbeigekommen. Über die Piazza sind wir zuvor schon einige Male gelaufen und haben auch die Fassade von außen bestaunt, welche die eines Palastes aus dem 15. Jahrhundert ist und ziemlich besonders mit ihren Diamantquadern, aber wie prunkvoll die Kirche von innen ist, kann man sich da nicht vorstellen. Neapolitanischer Barock pur!
