Venice - Day 2 - Palazzo Mocenigo

What should you do on your birthday? Of course something, that is really fun for you and you would love to do. And what do I like more, than my beloved "time travels"?! If there is also fashion involved, there is no stopping me. When I planned my trip to Venice with Tripadvisor and read about a fashion and perfume museum, which is located in a baroque palace, I put it on  top of my to-do-list.

We almost didn't find it and wanted to skip our visit, so if you want to visit too, I would recommend using Google Maps or some kind of route planner. In terms of fashion I really expected more, but that didn't bother me much, because the exhibited pieces are still stunning. I just find the fee a little expensive with 8 Euros, because the palace really isn't huge. But if you travel to Venice you really have to accept the overcharged prices. And where can you see so beautiful baroque fashion pieces up close? There is also a perfume museum located in the Palazzo, which is very interesting, because you can learn about the production in past times and in parts it's also interactive. For example you can smell ingredients,read about the process or watch movies.

Was sollte man an seinem Geburtstag natürlich machen: DAS was einem am meisten Spass macht! Und was mag ich mehr, als meine geliebten "Zeitreisen"?!Wenn dann auch noch Mode dazukommt, dann gibt es kein Halten mehr. Als ich bei meinen "Vorrecherchen" für Venedig auf Tripadvisor von einem Mode- und Parfümmuseum in einem barocken Palast gelesen habe, kam dies natürlich an oberste Stelle meiner Liste. Im Falle einer Besichtigung rate ich auf jeden Fall dazu seine Route dorthin gut zu planen, denn wir hatten wirklich Probleme, den Palast zu finden. Der Palazzo ist nicht allzu groß und deshalb mit seinen 8 Euro meiner Mmeinung nach ein wenig überteuert. Aber wo kriegt man schon barocke Kleidung aus nächster Nähe zu sehen? Ich hatte modemässig auch wirklich mehr erwartet, aber das tat meiner Freude keinen Abbruch, denn die Ausstellungsstücke sind für Modefans trotzdem faszinierend.In den folgenden Räumen gibt es noch ein Parfummuseum, dass sich mit der Parfumherstellung in vergangenen Zeiten beschäftigt, welchen in Teilen auch interaktiv ist, da man an verschiedenen Duftbestandteilen riechen kann, Filme schauen oder über die Produktion lesen kann.

Outfit Venice Day 2 - Couture Spring 2017

Today we continue with day 2 of my trip to Venice and at the start of the day with my birthday outfit. Of course the title is just a little joke, but the dress felt a little bit like a couture piece with the embroideries and the tulle.

Heute geht es mit Tag 2 meines Venedigaufenthalts weiter und zum Tagesanfang mit meinem Geburtstagsoutfit. Die Überschrift ist natürlich nur ein kleiner Gag, aber dieses Kleid mit den Stickereien und dem Tüll fühlte sich echt ein wenig nach Couture an.

Christmas & New Years Eve 2016

Today 100 years late (ok, just 2 weeks) I can finally publish the pics from Christmas and New Years.

But  they weren't complete up until yesterday, when we finally handed out our presents. From year to year we apparently postpone it even more.

But what has become a tradition, is the visit of our favorite chinese restaurant (our favorite tabel included), which I can now call our 'Annual Christmas Party'.

On New Years I was really in the mood to go clubbing, but like every other year, there wasn't a party, for which it was worth spending hundreds of Euros or waiting in the cold for hours to get in. So we had raclette at home and then, after the fireworks, danced to mainly 70s and 80s music and made it (semi-)professional with a dj-mixer, Tim ordered at the very last minute.

Mal wieder mit 100 Jahren Verspätung (ok, eigentlich "nur" knapp 2 Wochen;) hier noch die Fotos von Weihnachten und Silvester. Eine Tradition ist ja mittlerweile auch unser Besuch in unserem liebsten Chinarestaurant inklusive unseres Lieblingstisches, den ich ja schon jährliche Weihnachtsfeier nennen kann. Bescherung haben wir sogar erst vor ein paar Tagen gemacht. Irgendwie brauchen wir von Jahr zu Jahr länger dafür. 

An Silvester wäre ich zwar nur zu gerne feiern gegangen, aber irgendwie gab es, wie fast jedes Jahr, nichts Spezielles, wofür es sich gelohnt hätte, hunderte von Euros zu bezahlen oder stundenlang in der Kälte anzustehen. Also gab es mal wieder Raclette bei uns zu Hause und nach dem Feuerwerk eine 70s-80sParty, inklusive extra noch schnell bestelltem Mischpult und vielen Partyprops.;)
