But back to Rome! If you really want to squeeze out your holiday like a lemon, try to take your flight as late in the day as possible. So we still had some hours to stroll through the sunny streets and explore. I really recommend a hotel near the Vatican, because it's not as expensive as in the city centre, but still close to the action. And next to cultural eye candy you have affordable restaurants and shops there. By accident we also discovered an indoor marketplace, where we bought some last-minute souvenirs. And don't forget to negotiate a good price!:)
Ciao a tutti! Heute zeige ich euch meine letzten Bilder aus der antiken Stadt und dann geht's auch schon weiter zum nächsten Ziel. Und das wird sein - Trommelwirbel - der Gardasee und Umgebung. So stay tuned! Jetzt aber erstmal wieder zurück nach Rom. Wenn man einen Urlaub wirklich auspressen will wie eine Zitrone, sollte man natürlich versuchen, den Rückflug so spät wie möglich am Tag zu legen. So hatten wir dann noch ein paar Stündchen im sonnigen Rom und konnten noch ein wenig durch die Strassen schlendern. Ein Hotel in der Nähe des Vatikans ist wirklich zu empfehlen, da es nicht so teuer ist, wie in der Innenstadt, aber trotzdem nah am Geschehen und dort neben kulturellem Augenschmaus auch gute und nicht so teure Gastronomie und Shops vorhanden sind. Durch Zufall landeten wir auch in einem kleinen Markt, wo wir noch Last-minute ein paar Souvenirs kauften. Verhandeln ist natürlich erwünscht!
