Prague - Day 2 - The Golden Lane

So after we visited the cathedral and the royal palace, everything closed and we followed the other tourists in the direction of the "Golden Lane". We felt like in Disneyland with the small, coloured houses and we thought, everything was a bit too over-restored. You can also visit some of the houses, where the alchemists supposed to have lived and also many weapons and suits of armour. But mainly gift shops are now situated in the tiny houses.

Nachdem wir in der Kathedrale und dem Königspalast waren, machte dann auch schon alles dicht und wir folgten einfach den Touristenströmen Richtung "Goldenes Gässchen". Man kommt sich fast so vor wie im Disneyland mit den kleinen, bunten Häuschen und wir haben uns dann auch gefragt,ob dort nicht alles ein bißchen zu über-restauriert ist.  Man kann hier sowohl einige Häuser der Alchemisten besichtigen,die angeblich in einigen der Häuser gewohnt haben sollen, als auch Waffen und Rüstungen. Aber hauptsächlich sind hier jetzt kleine Souvenierläden angesiedelt.

Prague - Day 2 - Old Royal Palace

So let's continue with our discovery tour. We managed to visit the cathedral and then we had some minutes left to sneak into the old royal palace. There is not much to see, so 15 minutes were enough to take some panorama pics on the terrace. For people interested in history, it's important to know, that the palace was the location of the second defenestration of Prague.

Ok, dann lasst uns mal weiter mit unserer Entdeckungstour machen. 
Wir hatten geschafft, die Kathedrale zu besichtigen und das wars dann auch schon fast. Da der alte Königspalast direkt hinter der Kirche ist, sind wir noch mal kurz dort hinein gesprintet. Da es dort aber eh nicht viel zu sehen gab, reichte uns die übriggebliebene Viertelstunde, um kurz noch ein paar Fotos von der angrenzenden Terasse aus zu machen. Der Königspalast war dennoch Schauplatz des bekannten, zweiten Prager Fenstersturzes, für historisch Interessierte.:)

Prague - Up to the Hradčany - St. Vitus

Well,all right! So we left the hotel as early as always, like at 3 in the afternoon. In Prague I definitely wanted to visit the Prague Castle. So when we arrived, we had one hour left. Fortunatelly the entrance ticket was valid for two days, so we planned to return the next day. But in one hour we thought we could check off some parts of the complex. So we started with the cathedral St. Vitus with its awesome, colourful windows. I always feel a little inappropriate, when taking photos in churches, but I always turn off the flash, so that I don't bother any people.

Nun denn.. An meinem wirklichen Geburtstag waren wir mal wieder ziemlich unentschlossen und sind mal wieder erst mittags los.  In Prag hatte ich als Hauptanlaufsziel die Prager Burg ausgemacht. Bis wir den Weg dorthin gefunden hatten, mit der eigentlich ziemlich simplen Ubahn, war es schon fast 16 Uhr und wir hatten nurnoch eine Stunde Zeit. Schja,mussten wir halt nochmal wiederkommen und zum Glück war die Eintrittskarte auch 2 Tage gültig. Als erstes sind wir dann in den Veitsdom mit den wundervollen, bunten Kirchenfenstern. Beim Fotografieren in Kirchen komme ich mir immer ein wenig unangemessen vor, deshalb fotografiere ich auch nur ohne Blitz um keinen zu nerven.
